Terms of Service
Ask Alway · Last updated: 15 August 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Webnow AS, org. no. 831 434 252, Norway (“we”, “us”), about your use of the Ask Alway application and the services it connects to (“Alway”, “the Service”). By installing or using Alway you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service.
Questions about anything here: kontakt@webnow.no.
1. What Alway is
Alway is a macOS application that observes what you do on your Mac — the text in the windows you use, and what you say when you hold the voice key — turns it into a private memory stored on your own computer, and uses that memory to answer you and, with your approval, to act on your Mac.
Alway is a tool, not an adviser. It uses large language models, which are wrong sometimes, in ways that can be confident and hard to spot. Do not rely on Alway for medical, legal, financial or other professional decisions. Check anything that matters before you act on it.
2. Who may use it
You must be 18 or older and able to enter a binding contract. You may use Alway for personal or business purposes. You are responsible for everything done through your account and for making sure your use of Alway is lawful where you are — including any duty you have to tell other people that a tool on your Mac may capture what appears on your screen while you work with them.
3. Plans, prices and what you get
| Plan | Price | Included each month |
|---|---|---|
| Free | — | 7 days of memory on your Mac. No AI answers, voice or Mac actions. |
| Plus | $20 / month, or $192 / year | 1,500 questions, 240 minutes of talking, 400 Mac actions, memory that never expires |
| Pro | $50 / month, or $480 / year | 5,000 questions, 900 minutes of talking, 1,500 Mac actions, memory that never expires, external AI connections |
Prices are in US dollars and exclude VAT, which is calculated and added at checkout according to where you are. The total you will be charged is always shown before you pay.
Each plan also carries a fair-use ceiling on total processing cost, and per-day limits, to stop a single account consuming a disproportionate share. If you reach a limit, Alway keeps working — background memory continues on your Mac and the affected feature resumes at the start of the next period. We will tell you inside the app when you are close.
We may change plan contents, limits or prices. If a change is to your disadvantage we will give you at least 30 days’ notice by email before it applies to your subscription, and you may cancel before it takes effect.
4. Subscriptions, renewal and cancellation
Your subscription renews automatically — every month for monthly plans, every year for yearly plans — and we charge the payment method you gave Stripe, until you cancel. There is no minimum term and no cancellation fee.
To cancel: open Alway → Settings → Plan → Manage subscription. That opens Stripe’s customer portal, where you can cancel with one click, change plan, update your card and download invoices. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for; you keep full access until then, and we do not refund the unused part of a period.
If a renewal payment fails, you keep full access for 7 days while we retry and you fix the card. After that the subscription pauses and Alway drops to the free tier. Nothing on your Mac is deleted — fix the payment and everything resumes.
5. Your right of withdrawal, and why you waive it
As a consumer in the EU/EEA you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract for a digital service (Directive 2011/83/EU; in Norway, angrerettloven § 22 n).
Alway starts delivering the moment you subscribe — it immediately begins spending on AI processing on your behalf. So at checkout we ask you to expressly request that the Service begin at once and to acknowledge that your right of withdrawal ends once it has begun. You tick that box yourself; it is not pre-ticked, and you cannot buy without it.
If you did not tick it, you did not buy. If you would rather keep the 14 days, do not subscribe.
None of this limits your rights when something is actually wrong with the Service — see § 6.
6. If something is wrong
If the Service is materially defective — it does not do what these terms say it does — you have the rights Norwegian consumer law gives you, including repair, a price reduction or cancellation with a refund. Nothing in these terms limits those rights. Write to kontakt@webnow.no and we will sort it out.
We will also refund a payment if we charged you in error, or if a technical fault on our side made the Service substantially unusable for a meaningful part of a paid period.
7. What you may not do
Do not: resell, sublicense or share your subscription outside your own Macs (a subscription covers up to 5 Macs that you use); reverse-engineer, decompile or work around the licensing; use Alway to break the law, infringe someone’s rights or process data you have no right to process; attempt to exceed or evade the plan limits, including by creating multiple accounts; or use Alway to build a competing product.
Complimentary and beta codes are personal, non-transferable, and we may withdraw them at any time.
8. Your content, and ours
Everything Alway captures and remembers is yours. Screen text, transcripts, memory, journals — you own all of it, we claim no rights in it, and it stays on your Mac. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what does and does not leave your computer.
Alway itself — the app, the service, the name and the design — stays ours. Your subscription is a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use it, nothing more.
You are responsible for backing up your own Mac. We do not hold a copy of your memory, so we cannot restore it for you.
9. Availability
We aim to keep the service running but do not promise uninterrupted availability. We may suspend it for maintenance, and we may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue the Service entirely we will give you at least 60 days’ notice and refund the unused part of any prepaid period. Alway keeps working offline against your existing memory for a week at a time if our servers are unreachable — an outage is not a cancellation.
10. Suspension and termination
You can stop any time: cancel your subscription, and delete your account from Settings → Your data → Delete your account.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these terms, if payment fails and is not fixed, or if we are required to by law. Except where the breach is serious or unlawful, we will warn you first and give you a chance to put it right. If we terminate without cause, we refund the unused part of your period.
11. Liability
Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under Norwegian law — including your non-waivable rights as a consumer.
Subject to that: we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost business or lost data, and our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to what you paid us in that period. In particular, you are responsible for reviewing what Alway proposes before you approve it. Alway asks before every action on your Mac, and that approval is yours.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For material changes we will notify you in the app or by email at least 30 days before they take effect. If you keep using Alway after that, you accept the new terms; if you do not, cancel before they apply.
13. Law and disputes
Norwegian law governs these terms. Disputes go to the Norwegian courts, with Oslo District Court as the agreed venue — but if you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the right to bring a claim in the courts of the country where you live, or of any mandatory protection its law gives you.
As a consumer you may also take a complaint to the Norwegian Consumer Authority (Forbrukertilsynet) or, in the EU, use the European Commission’s online dispute resolution platform. We would rather you emailed us first: kontakt@webnow.no.
