Restore your purchase on a new Mac

Your subscription is tied to the email address you paid with, not to a password. To use it on another Mac:

  1. Install Alway on the new Mac and open it.
  2. Go to Settings → Plan → Restore purchase.
  3. Enter the email address you paid with.
  4. We email you a six-digit code. Type it into the app.

The code is valid for a short time. If it does not arrive within a few minutes, check your spam folder, then try again — and if it still does not arrive, write to kontakt@webnow.no from the address you paid with.

A subscription covers up to 5 Macs that you use. Your memory does not travel with it: it lives on each Mac, so a new Mac starts with an empty memory and builds its own.

Cancel your subscription

In the app: Settings → Plan → Manage subscription. That opens Stripe's customer portal, where you can cancel with one click, switch plan, update your card and download invoices.

Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for. You keep full access until then, and the unused part of a period is not refunded. Nothing on your Mac is deleted when a subscription ends — Alway drops to the free tier and your memory stays where it is. The full terms are in Subscriptions, renewal and cancellation.

Delete your account and your data

There are two separate things you can delete, and you control both.

Everything on this Mac — Settings → Your data → Delete everything on this Mac. This destroys the encryption keys first, so anything that survives a partial deletion is unreadable. You can also delete just the last 30 minutes, pause capture at any time, or exclude specific apps and sites.

Your account with us — Settings → Your data → Delete your account. This cancels your subscription immediately and erases your email address, your Macs and your usage history from our servers. Stripe keeps the payment records Norwegian bookkeeping law requires it to keep.

What you need to run it

Alway requires macOS 26 or later on Apple Silicon. It is currently in private beta and is not publicly available to download. You can join the waitlist for early access.
